Marquis Huntsman, CMA, is the Chief Financial Officer for Castle Breckenridge Management, Inc. (CBM), a full service management company, serving community associations in southern California. In 2000, he took responsibility for managing the general accounting function under the supervision of Sheri White.
The general accounting function consists of preparing financial statements, maintaining the data network, and overseeing a staff of six accounting employees. Goals are accomplished using a wide degree of latitude and creativity with a reliance on experience and good judgment.
Ten years prior to working for CBM, Huntsman was the chief accountant for a loan servicing company located in Scripps Ranch.
Huntsman is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) where he was certified as a Manager Accountant. He has mastered a comprehensive body of knowledge by demonstrating six key skill levels: knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. These skill levels are in business analysis, management accounting and reporting, strategic management, and business applications. This certification requires 30 hours of continuing education per year to maintain an active license with the IMA.
A man with a mission, Huntsman vows to demonstrate professional excellence while improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting processes. He believes CBM clients benefit from this philosophy by receiving timely, accurate and meaningful financial information helping them make informed decisions on behalf of their communities.
In 1996, Huntsman graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management (emphasis on Accounting). He passed the CPA exam in 1997 and was certified as a manager accountant by the IMA in 1998.
A La Mesa resident, he lives with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys jogging, hiking, music, sports, and spending time with family and friends.
